Noble
The Noble was one of the earlier British Hammered Gold Coins. Although it was popular with Royalty though the Noble was not really popular with merchants as it was too valuable for everyday commerce..
A Noble was the first English gold coin to be issued in quantity, having having taken over from the Gold penny and the Florin which were issued earlier in the reigns of King Henry III and King Edward III, but these saw little circulation.
Smaller coins were more popular like the Half Noble and Quarter Noble, and these were produced in larger quantities .
